Tom Hayes new Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine.

In this day Ireland’s Republic Government has appointed Deputy Tom Hayes new Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. In particular Tom Hayes has been appointed Minister of State for Food, Horticulture and Food Safety. Minister of State is a junior ministerial post in Departments of State of the Government of Ireland. Minister of State assists the Minister of the Government. Hayes is a politician and beef farmer, he is a politician of Fine Gael. In this years Hayes was elected in Dail Ãireann and in Seanad Aireann. Also he served as Chairman of Fine Gael Parliamentary Party from September 2002 to March 2010 and he was party deputy spokesperson on Transport with special responsibility for Road Safety from Octobar 2010 to March 2011. Commenting on the appointment Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: «Tom Hayes has a deep understanding of the agriculture sector and I am confident that this, along with his political and farming experience, will equip him very well for this important and challenging role». Minister Hayes thanks Government for the designation: «I am delighted and honoured to have this opportunity to serve as Minister of State. I look forward to working closely with Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Simon Coveney and other colleagues on the continued development of these very important sectors».
