A by-election was held in Dáil Éireann Meath East costituency in Ireland on 27 March 2013. Dáil Éireann is the lower house, but principal chamber, of Oireachtas, the Irish parliament. Helen Mc Entee, Candidate of Fine Gael, the liberal and European center-right Irish Party, has won.
Also the old Teachta Dála Shane Mc Entee was a Politician of Fine Gael. Shane Mc Entee died tha last December. Eleven Candidates have competed in this by-election. They have been: Ben Gilroy for Direct Democracy Ireland, Thomas Byrne for Fianna Fáil, Séan Ó Buachalla for Green Party, Eoin Holmes for Labour Party, Darren O’Rourke for Sinn Féin, Seamus McDonagh for Worker’s Party, Charlie Keddy, Mick Martin, Gerard O’Brien, Jim Tallon how Indipendents and Helen Mc Entee, the new Teachta Dála, for Fine Gael.
